ODx Innovations – Clinical Manager

Based from their R & D centre in Inverness, ODx Innovations is a well-resourced early stage company developing a highly innovative, rapid and cost-effective point of care (POC) testing solution for Antibiotic sensitivity  testing. Entering the next stage of their exciting and ambitious growth, ODx are seeking an experienced Clinical Manager to support the organisation in clinical & regulatory studies of   cost-effective, accurate and speedy point-of-care solutions to address the growing problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

The role 

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the development and leadership of the ODx clinical team in all aspects of the design, planning, management,  implementation and review of ODx clinical studies and trials.

A highly experienced Clinical Manager, you will have a varied and challenging role, your duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Leading and managing clinical studies and trials for ODx on current UK & overseas sites & setting up new sites
  • Recruitment, mentoring and development of ODx’s clinical teams in UK and US
  • Ensuring product development adheres to GCP guidelines, UK NHS and overseas regulatory requirements for studies
  • Acting as the key liaison point for ODx with external clinical partners nationally, which will include UK NHS pharmacy & public health stakeholders, administrative, medical and research staff and internationally with clinical personnel in US partnerships
  • Liaison with internal stakeholders including administrative staff, marketing, microbiology laboratories, scientific personnel and quality team
  • Preparing protocols and ethics applications for new studies
  • Ensure required supplies and materials are in place to support all internal and external ODx studies
  • Designing and reporting on metrics for studies and trials
  • Undertaking regular audits of ODx studies and clinical workflow

Holding a relevant qualification within a clinical, scientific or associated discipline, you will be able to demonstrate proven experience as a Clinical Manager leading evaluation, management and successful delivery of clinical studies. You will have led study volunteer recruitment from a mix of internal resources, partners and vendors. With a genuine ability to inspire, empower and develop your team and work well with others, internal and externally, you will possess first class communication and stakeholder management skills.

Previous experience of leading clinical studies for product development within the medical device or related sectors and a working knowledge of the NHS or associated environments would be advantageous.
